Walailak University Strengthens Academic Ties with the Embassy of India in Thailand

On 17 March 2025,  Dr. Suthasinee Sangkhum, Assistant to the President for Global Engagement, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Wachiraporn Puangchinda, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, School of Graduate Studies, Walailak University, paid an official courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Representative of India to UNESCAP, along with his team at the Embassy of India in Thailand.

The purpose of this visit was to seek the Ambassador’s guidance on how Walailak University could contribute to strengthening people-to-people ties between Thailand and India, particularly through international scholarships, research collaborations, student exchanges, and other forms of academic partnerships.

During the meeting, Walailak University also shared information about its upcoming participation in APAIE 2025 in India and planned meetings with partner institutions, including O.P. Jindal Global University and Chandigarh University, both of which received the Ambassador’s warm support. His Excellency also kindly recommended reaching out to Ashoka University as a potential partner for further collaboration.

Additionally, Ambassador Nagesh Singh praised the proactive initiative of Walailak University in connecting with the Embassy and acknowledged the university’s readiness to engage in global academic communities and share its achievements. His Excellency assured that Walailak University will be included in the Embassy's collaborative network and that the Embassy will facilitate connections with prospective high-quality institutions in India.
