Recently, the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) organized the 2024 Rubber Innovation Contest to promote innovation and invention related to rubber, aiming to boost its commercial value and increase domestic rubber usage. The event took place at the Kantang Room, RAOT, Bangkok.
A team from Walailak University’s Petrochemical and Polymer Program, School of Engineering and Technology, developed activated carbon from rubberwood sawdust using a two-step transformation process, designed for use as a bleaching agent in the food industry.
Their project won first prize in the higher education and graduate category, earning them a plaque and a cash prize of 20,000 Baht from RAOT
