Assistant Professor Dr. Auemphon Mordmuang, Assistant Dean of International Affairs, and Assistant Professor Dr. Lunla Udomwech of the School of Medicine, Walailak University, recently participated in the 3rd Global Health Conference hosted by Nuvance Health. The conference, held in Danbury, Connecticut, from September 21-25, 2024, focused on the theme "Fostering Global Health Education and Partnerships" under the Majid Sadigh, MD Global Health Academy.
The event highlighted a decade of progress in global health education, bringing together leaders from partner sites around the world. Dr. Mordmuang contributed as a panelist in the discussion "Research and Publishing in Global Health: Establishing Equitable Partnerships," sharing Walailak University's expertise in global health research and partnerships. In addition, Walailak University hosted a poster session to introduce participants to Thailand’s public health system and the university’s Global Health Elective Programs, sparking opportunities for new collaborations.
We are especially proud to note that last year, Walailak University's medical school was chosen as the top choice for the international medical elective site of the Global Health Program, reinforcing our institution’s reputation as a premier destination for global health education.
Following the conference, Dr. Mordmuang and Dr. Lunla were invited to speak at the 2nd Global Summit on Public Health during the Science Summit of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), 79th Annual Meeting, held in New York City on September 25-26, 2024. The participation reflects the university's expanding role on the global stage and its ongoing contributions to public health education. We look forward to continuing our leadership in global health and fostering new partnerships worldwide. Stay tuned for more updates on our global initiatives!
